In this invitation-only event, 24 Starcraft II players and 8 League of Legends teams will battle throughout the weekend culminating Sunday to crown the Starcraft II champion and top League of Legends team.
The GIGABYTE eSports LAN will feature an array of groundbreaking improvements to enhance the spectating experience both in person and online. Among the enhancements will be live, onstage group drawings for Starcraft II and a live picking and banning room for League of Legends. A dedicated media room for interviews prior to and following matches will allow greater access to players and a higher level of interaction between the gaming pros and their fans.

Starcraft II General Rules
1. The latest official Patch version will be used throughout the Event.
2. In the case of a Computer/Monitor/Internet/Battle.net malfunction, the Game may be restarted from the beginning, determined by the Commissioner of SoCal eSports.
3. During the event’s scheduled Warm-Up periods, all Players must get up at the end of a Game and allow any Players, who have been waiting, to take their seat.
4. During the event’s scheduled Warm-Up periods, Players who haven’t been eliminated from the Event have priority over other Players regarding the use of open Stations.
5. Casual League qualifications: Players must be in bronze, silver, or gold league in 1v1 online multiplayer matches in order to participate in the Amateur League. Players may not have no ranking history to the character they register (blank/new/smurf character). Players may not be masters league in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 matches with their character within this or the previous Battle.net season. Any player found to be “tanking” their rank beyond a reasonable doubt to compete in the casual division is subject to disqualification at the referee’s or admin’s discretion.
6. Amateur League Qualifications: Players must be in platinum or diamond in 1v1 online multiplayer matches in order to participate in the Amateur League. Players may not have no ranking history to the character they register (blank/new/smurf character). Players may not be masters league in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4 matches with their character within this or the previous Battle.net season. Any player found to be “tanking” their rank beyond a reasonable doubt to compete in the amateur division is subject to disqualification at the referee’s or admin’s discretion.
7. If a Player fails to report to their Station within 15 minutes of their Match’s announcement, they will Forfeit the 1st Game. If a Player fails to report to their Station within 20 minutes of their Match’s announcement, they will Forfeit a second game. If Players scheduled to play each other both Forfeit a Game or Match, the higher seeded Player will win the Game or Match. If a Match is announced prior to its scheduled start time, the Forfeit timer will start at the Match’s scheduled start time.
8. Players may ask their Referee for permission to leave their Station if their Match has not been completed. Referees may set a time limit by the end of which the Player must return to their Station or they may deny the Player’s request. Players may Forfeit a Game(s) if they haven’t returned by the end of their Referee’s set time limit. Players may Forfeit a Game(s) if they leave their Station without their Referee’s permission, or are otherwise unable to play.
9. Players may ask their Tournament Director or Head Referee for an extended break between Matches. The Tournament Director or Head Referee may set a time limit by the end of which the Player must report to their upcoming Match’s Station or they may also deny the Player’s request. Players may Forfeit a Game(s) if they haven’t reported to their upcoming Match’s Station by the end of their Tournament Director’s or Head Referee’s set time limit.
10. In order to dispute Game results, Players must notify their Referee that they would like to Protest the Game before a new Game has begun. In order to dispute Match results, Players must notify their Referee that they would like to Protest the Match before the Match’s Score Sheet has been submitted to the Starcraft 2 Tournament Director.
Gameplay
1. Players may Pause a Game if they have their Referee’s permission or if they have agreed to a Pause of the Game with their opponent in in-game chat. Referees may approve or deny a Player’s request to Pause a Game. Pausing a Game without Referee’s or opposing Player’s permission will result in a Warning. Each subsequent Warning that a Player receives will result in a Forfeit of the Game (See Equipment Rule #18 & Gameplay Rule #19).
2. Players may not look at an opposing Player’s Monitor or projected screen.
3. Players must disable Toast Notifications in the Battle.net options.
4. Players must set their status to Busy.
5. Breaking any of Gameplay Rules #2-4 will result in a Forfeit of the Game.
6. Any sign of cheating may result in a Forfeit of the Game, disqualification from the Event, a Temporary Ban from SoCal eSports’ Network of Websites, a fine, and a Competition Ban for a future Circuit Competition(s).
7. The Map for Game 1 of each Match will be selected by SoCal eSports and announced prior to the Event.
8. Prior to the start of a Best of 3 Game Match and the Blind Pick of Races, each Player may select one Map, from the list of Maps, that can’t be chosen for Games 2 or 3. The lower seeded Player will be given the opportunity to select a Map first. The higher seeded Player will then be given the opportunity to select a Map.
9. The loser of a Game must select the Map for the next Game.
10. No Map may be played more than once in the same Best of 3 Game Match or Best of 5 Game Match.
11. No Map will be considered as having been used in a Game that is Forfeited according to General Rules #6.
12. Players may request that their Referee conduct a Blind Pick of Races for all Games.
13. Both Players may switch their Race after each Game.
14. If a Game is started without the approval of a Referee it will be restarted from the beginning.
15. Players who quit out of a Game before it has ended, without Referee’s permission, will Forfeit the Game.
16. Players who are disqualified prior to the start of a Game will not be allowed to play in the Game. Players who are disqualified during a Game must quit out of the Game. Players who are disqualified won’t receive any Points for their ranking in the Event.
17. The higher seeded Player must host all Games in a Match unless the Match is broadcasted. If a Match is broadcasted, an observer will host all Games in the Match.
18. Only SoCal eSports Staff members may connect to the server as an observer. Inviting someone to observe a Match without Referee’s permission will result in a Warning. Each subsequent Warning that a Player receives will result in a Forfeit of the Game(See Equipment Rule #18 & Gameplay Rule #1).
19. If a Player loses their connection to the Host during a Game or their connection becomes unstable, the in-game disconnect timer will be used. If the timer reaches 0, the Game will be restarted from the beginning.
20. If an observer loses their connection to the Game, but both Players remain in the Game, the Game must continue.
21. The higher seeded Player must play as the Red team and the lower seeded Player must play as the Blue team.
22. If all Minerals on the Map have been consumed and no Units or Structures have been killed/destroyed for 5 minutes, the Game will be restarted from the beginning.
Bracket format
1. There will be a Winners and a Losers bracket. Winner’s bracket matches will always be “Best of Three” until the Winner’s bracket semifinals where the matches will be come “Best of Five”. Loser’s bracket matches will all be “Best of One” until Loser’s bracket semifinals where they will be “Best of Three”. The grand final will be a “Best of Seven.”
