QuakeCon 2012 is just around the corner and the excitement is building. Cyber Sports Network was able to provide the QuakeCon 2011 BYOC with over $43,000 in prizing last year and we are currently talking with QuakeCon about doing the same and more this year. Until we have convinced QuakeCon to have CSN be a part of the bigger and better BYOC this year, the Cyber Sports Network would like to be a part of the process of deciding which team mode will be used at this years QuakeCon.
Cyber Sports Network is proud to announce a one day North America CTF Cup. The "Make It CTF!" Cup is a free tournament designed to spark the North America CTF community in hopes of having id Software take notice and add CTF as the official team mode for QuakeCon 2012.
The Map pool will be different. Liked by some and disliked by others, the pool has been chosen to celebrate the development that id Software has continue to put forth in keeping QuakeLive relevant as the Grand Daddy of all eSports. Server ruleset: standard ql (no pql).
Format:
Qualification cups: single elimination best-of-3. Grand Finals will be best-of -5.
Map picking: toss toss ; pick pick [better seed tosses first]
Teams can add additional players to the team roster after the cup starts only if the players have not participated in the cup.
All players must record the demos (cl_autoaction 1) and present them to the admins upon request. The demos go strictly to the admins and admins only, not to other players.
All players must at least have a premium account, or have someone in their team who can invite them to the server.
In case of players warping, report it to admins before readying up, otherwise the complaints will be ignored.
Teams that register for the cups and sign in, yet find out that they can not participate after all will have a 1 cup ban imposed on them, meaning they won’t be able to participate in the following qualification round.
The servers for all the qualification rounds can be spawned by teams, but the admins should be opped on the server (if present).
Grand finals servers will all be provided by the CyberSports Network staff.
