1.2.2 Map Pool
Map pool is subject to change from event to event. All players are responsible for reading and understanding the Event Details and Rules specific to the Event they are joining.

1.2.3 Timeouts
Each player may call up to three (3) timeouts per map for technical reasons. Players are not allowed to call any timeouts for tactical reasons; doing so may result in a map loss or score penalty.

3. Server Selection
Players must agree to a server location prior to the start of a match. The server should be chosen in a fair and neutral location. If a server location cannot be agreed upon by the players then a CSN Event Administrator will assign a server location for the match to be played on. Once a match has been started on a server the match must be played fully unless both players agree to restart the match and the match can be played within the scheduled times.

1.3.1 Ping Difference
The difference between two players ping in any given server location may not exceed 30 milliseconds unless both players agree to play under those conditions. If a suitable server is not found to meet the ping rule requirements the match may be played on split servers at the Administrators discretion.

1.3.2 Server setup
Players are allowed to set up their own servers. If the players choose to set up their own server then the password to that server must be given to a CSN Event Administrator. Failure to do so may result in forfeiting the match.

1.3.3 In the unlikely event of a server crash, client crash, or other technical failure (deemed as such by the Event Administrator), the appropriate measures will be decided on an individual basis.

4. Map Selection
The maps selection process will vary depending on the map pool and number of maps to be played for each match. All CSN Quake Live Duel Events will use map pool size of five (5) or seven (7) maps unless specifically noted otherwise. The higher seed (#1 seed is higher than a #2 seed) will always start the map selection process.

1.4.1 Map Selection for Best of Three Matches

1.4.1.1 If the map pool is 5 maps:
Drop, Drop, Pick, Pick. Remaining map will be used for the 3rd map if needed.
1.4.1.2 If the map pool is 7 maps:
Drop, Drop, Pick, Pick, Drop, Drop. Remaining map will be used for the 3rd map if needed.

1.4.2 Map Selection for Best of Five Matches

1.4.2.1 If the map pool is 5 maps:
Pick, Pick, Pick, Pick. Remaining map will be used for the 5th map if needed.
1.4.2.2 If the map pool is 7 maps:

5. QUAKE LIVE Aliases and Player Accounts
All players are expected to use their “known” aliases and QUAKE LIVE accounts when participating in CSN QUAKE LIVE events to facilitate accurate and timely seeding. Any players using an “unknown” alias will be assumed to be an unknown player and could receive a lower seed as a result. Players are encouraged to have a Premium or Pro QUAKE LIVE account to play in events with a map pool that has premium maps but premium and pro accounts are not required.

6. Menu, Console Commands, and Cheating
Players may use the in-game GUI or console for configuration settings. All options available via the in-game menus are authorized for use in tournament play. Device drivers which permit players to see through walls, or enable any form of transparency not intended by QUAKE LIVE are strictly forbidden and grounds for immediate removal from Events.

Players may use alias binding, however, no alias may be used which assists players in determining spawn times, or performing any action which in any way inhibits the ability of an opponent to perform a legal action in the game. Except for control drivers and device settings, no commands are allowed outside the game or in the command line. Except for control drivers, custom HUDs, and device settings, no alteration, deletion, or addition of files is permitted.

Your player model and colors must remain the same throughout the course of a match. Any commands or combination of commands that allow seeing through walls, player warping, message spamming, auto-aim, radar, or similar action will be considered cheating and grounds for disqualification.

Questions regarding setting of variables and commands and how they relate to cheating should be brought to a tournament official before your first match. There is zero tolerance for cheating. If a participant is caught cheating, they will face disciplinary actions up to and including disqualification from competition.

Custom HUDs will be allowed. Custom Player HUDs should not relay additional information beyond what is available on the official Small, Normal, or Large Player HUDs.

7. Fair Play Rule
Participants are expected to play at their full capacity at all times. Deliberately losing will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.

8. Warm-up Time
It is the responsibility of all players to be ready to play at the scheduled event start times.
