Move QuakeCon to WISCONSIN!!!
WISCONSIN: You guys should totally do that. See if there is a way for you to establish it here. At least ONCE. We do have the Bradley Center here and its HUGE! Just a thought because WI is a lil over from the middle and Texas is at the bottom. Yes I live in WI... So what. Just figured I'd give a shout out and see what you ladies n gents think. Would be pretty sweet tho. :)
I do however plan to indulge myself in the QuakeCon games next year and join in on the WONDERFUL gaming experience of a life time as I had a BLAST watching it LIVE stream.
:I noticed after posting this, you have a suggestion and bug area: Hope this is in the right area, if not can this be moved?
You do realize that CSN has nothing to do with the establishment of Quakecon, nor the running of it. They where there this year as a sponsor, hosting all the tournaments.
You would most likely get a response to this statement on the Bethesda forums (they are the guys that run the show now days).
But I'll throw my input in on this, just for the hell of it. QuakeCon started in 1996, born right here in the heart of Texas. It is tradition to continue the love here in the home of QuakeCon instead of moving it else where. Now I do understand that other places would like to see QuakeCon come to their hometown, but you must understand, the location is more important that you think. The originators where a group of the Dallas-area gaming community and wanted something local to meet each other. Plus, bulk of all the sponsors have headquarters here in Texas (we are pretty large, if you didn't know).
So in the end, I can give you a big N.O. to this request. From 96' - 2011, QuakeCon has yet to be moved out of Dallas, and I doubt it will ever.
Actually.. I would love to do something in the midwest. I am from Omaha, NE and.. just the cost to run the event would be half that of most other places.. and Omaha is actually a large city.. 500K+... college world series, Warren Buffet, most millionaires per capita, 3% unemployment.. etc.... and with plenty of venues to hold the event. PLUS.. its in middle of country!! Hotels are less then 80.00 a night.. etc. Just makes sense to me.
QuakeCon wont move from the Dallas area.. but it sure would be nice to have another LAN like that someplace other then Dallas!
i am really not trying to troll what so ever, but wisconsin?
keepin it real
